Scrummi is proudly distributed in New Zealand by de Spa Cosmetics.  de Spa Cosmetics is one of New Zealands most respected and trusted suppliers and educators in the health and beauty industry. 
For over 35 years the family business has been based in Christchurch and we are excited to have Scrummi as part of our offering.

A bit about Scrummi

In 2010, Scrummi stepped onto the scene, arming salons and spas with game-changing biodegradable single-use towels.  Picture this:  time saved, energy conserved, and your wallet thanking you!  All with one key mission, to liberate the planet from laundry.

You’re not alone!  After a chance conversation with a Scottish salon owner in 2008, Scrummi founder Rob Cooper realised that the expensive and inefficient laundry cycle in spas and salons was a huge problem — for salon owners, for staff, and for the planet.

He saw there was a real need for a credible, sustainable alternative to cotton towels.

As a 4th generation textile entrepreneur, he knew he had the background and the knowledge of disposable products to really make a difference…...and so he set about creating a product that would change the face of the beauty industry.

Rob’s goal was to produce a luxurious but sustainable and biodegradable towel that would work better than a washable salon cotton towel, while also improving productivity and hygiene.

It was important that the manufacture and supply of these towels were considered throughout the process to ensure that the entire life cycle had minimal environmental impact.

In 2010, after 18 months of testing and researching products with a local group of salon owners, the first Scrummi Towel was officially launched — a genuine biodegradable, disposable alternative to cotton towels for the hairdressing industry which reduces the environmental impact of salon towels by 90%.

 

From day one we recognised the importance of sustainability and ethics in everything that we do.

We verify the source of all of our products back through the fibre manufacturer and wood source to ensure our products do not contain wood from ancient forests or fibre from polluting factories.

Over 10 years later, Scrummi is a global leader, fully committed to sustainable product development and has expanded to meet all of the needs of a salon that wishes to be truly laundry free and sustainable.

Today, Scrummi is used by 1000’s of salons and spas (including industry leaders such as L’Oreal, Clarins, Toni&Guy and Champneys) and salon and spa suppliers across the globe helping them to reduce their impact on the environment.
